The Yates County Community Services Department with its duly appointed Community Services Board is a planning and policy making entity that monitors and oversees all services in the county in the disability areas of mental health, mental retardation and developmental disabilities and alcoholism and substance abuse. Deficit funding is received from the New York State Offices of Mental Health, Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities and/or Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.

Yates County New York Alcoholics Anonymous. The Finger Lakes Area Intergroup (FLAI) was established in November of 2019. FLAI is a service organization formed pursuant to the Ninth Tradition of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) to operate on behalf of the A.A. Groups of the Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates county areas in accordance with the Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Intergroup exists to aid the Groups in their common purpose of carrying the A.A. message to the alcoholic who still suffers. The standing committees of The Finger Lakes Area Intergroup include the Answering Service, the Accessibility Committee, the Archives Committee, the Corrections Committee, the Public Information and Cooperation with the Professional Community Committee, the Treatment Committee, and the Website Committee.
