In 2021, the rate of opioid overdose deaths per 100,000 people in New York State reached 23.8. In Oswego County, the rate per 100,000 people was 29.4. These numbers have increased dramatically over the past decade from only 8.2 opioid overdose-related deaths per 100,000 people in 2010. The Oswego County Health Department is aware of this alarming trend and offers the services and resources listed below to educate the community and prevent more losses.
